Black Mountain Instruments / Jumbo Wood Dulcimers
A longer scale and deeper body give these deluxe dulcimers more volume
and a richer tone. They feature scroll heads, heart-shaped sound holes, four-string
set up, nickel/silver fretted fingerboards,
deluxe chrome mechanical tuning machines and bookmatched solid wood tops
and backs. The Deluxe models, (#88Deluxe and #81Deluxe), have Rosewood fingerboards with Mother-of-Pearl position dots and Rosewood stripes on the backs. These hourglass shaped bodies have lacquered, handrubbed finishes.
Length, width, and depth are 36" x 7 7/8" x 3 1/8". Scale
length" is 29 1/4"
Model 88
Model 88 has a solid quartersawn cedar top and solid cherry back, sides and
head. The fingerboard is cherry. Together, these woods produce
a bright, ringing tone.
Model 88 Deluxe
The Deluxe version of the Model 88 adds a Rosewood fingerboard with Mother-of-Pearl position dots, and Rosewood back stripe. The top is of rare Redwood.
Model 81
This dulcimer has a solid vertically grained Spruce top and solid
walnut back, sides, head and fingerboard. The combination of woods give
this instrument a round, mellow tone.
Model 81 Deluxe
This Deluxe instrument features a Rosewood fingerboard with Mother-of-Pearl position dots, and Rosewood/ Maple back inlay. The Spruce top is our very best quality.
